Creative Relationship Workshops for Real Life
Because apparently, nobody thought to give us a manual for relationship....
We aren't taught how to have healthy relationships. We're just expected to somehow know what we're doing — usually by copying what we saw growing up, winging it, making a few questionable choices, getting our hearts broken and hoping we learn something along the way.
If you're anything like me, you probably didn't get off to the best start!
And let's be honest, relationships are hard.
Our relationship with ourselves. Our partners. Our families. Our friends. Our colleagues. People we don't even know. And sometimes... the entire world.
That's where Bananas Groups & Soul Shine Collective comes in.
I create playful, creative and sometimes wonderfully weird workshops that help us explore how we relate to ourselves, each other and the world around us.
I use games, creativity, conversation, storytelling, curiosity and a good dose of real-life experience to explore things like relationships, confidence, communication, emotions, recovery, self-worth and connection.
No lectures. No telling you how to live your life. No pretending I've got it all figured out.
And definitely no sitting in a circle being forced to share your deepest feelings before you've even had a cup of tea.
So, what actually happens in a Bananas Group?
Well... it depends!
Every group is different because every group is made up of different people. I have specific workshops, 12 session courses, one off workshops and I can create a workshop based on your needs. But all the groups
include games & creative activities based on an aspect of a relationship struggle & goal.
You don't have to be "creative". You don't have to be good at anything. You don't have to perform.
The creativity is simply another way of exploring things that can sometimes be really difficult to put into words.
We might explore how you communicate when you're angry. What happens when you feel rejected. How you know what you need. Why boundaries can feel so uncomfortable. What makes you feel safe with another person. How shame affects relationships. What confidence actually feels like. How we repair things when we've messed up. And sometimes we discover that the thing we thought was about someone else is actually about us.
This isn't about fixing people.
It's about creating spaces where we can be curious, have a laugh, try things out, make connections and maybe understand ourselves and each other a little bit better.
People need connection. They need somewhere they can be themselves. They need people who get it. And sometimes they just need permission to do things a little differently.
When you join a Bananas Group, you're not just joining a workshop.
You're joining the Soul Shine Collective.
The group might finish, but the connection doesn't have to.
The Collective is the wider community of people who have been part of Soul Shine people who have come together through different groups, workshops, projects and experiences and share a commitment to helping themselves and other people shine a little brighter. My goal in the future is to train Soul Shiners to their own Banana Groups.
Come and have a play.
Come and have a chat.
Come exactly as you are.
Let's see what happens.
